CHICAGO - DePaul sophomore Brittany Hrynko was named to the BIG EAST Conference Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll it was announced on Monday by the league office. Hrynko averaged 27.0 points in DePaul's two games last week.
Hrynko scored 19 points including the game-winner in DePaul's 57-55 victory over Pittsburgh on Jan. 29. The sophomore put an exclamation point on her week by recording a career-high 35 points in the Blue Demons' 70-66 loss at Marquette on Feb. 2.
For the week, Hrynko was 19-for-47 from the field and made 10 3-pointers. At Marquette, the Philadelphia native drained a career-best seven triples and was .467 (7-for-15) from behind the arc. Her seven 3-pointers tied for the third most in school history.
Hrynko, who has been ranked in the top five in scoring during conference play, now leads the BIG EAST in league games with 21.1 points per game. Hrynko's season average of 16.7 points ranks sixth.
This is Hrynko's third Honor Roll accolade of her career and this season. She was also named to the Honor Roll on Jan. 7 and Jan. 21.
DePaul (16-6, 5-3 BIG EAST) welcomes Seton Hall (8-13, 3-5) for a 7 p.m. Wednesday tilt at McGrath-Phillips Arena.
