BIG EAST Honors Grays as Player of the Week
Feb. 5, 2018

CHICAGO - Mart'e Grays has been on quite a roll lately, and the BIG EAST Conference has certainly taken notice.

On Monday, Grays was honored as the BIG EAST Player of the Week after leading DePaul to victories over Marquette, Creighton and Providence in the last seven days.

Last Monday’s 95-83 win over Marquette locked both teams into a tie for first place. The Blue Demons are now all alone at the top after beating Providence on Sunday while Marquette lost to Creighton.

Grays averaged 17 points and 5.3 rebounds while shooting nearly 44 percent from three-point range last week. The junior forward set a career high with 10 field goals and matched a career high with 25 points in last Friday’s 77-67 win over Creighton.

Grays has reached double figures in 11 of her last 12 games as DePaul (18-6, 10-2) has won four in a row and eight of its last nine.

This is the first time Grays has been named the BIG EAST Player of the Week. In a dozen conference games, the 6-foot, 2-inch inside and outside threat is fifth in the league averaging 16.5 points per game.

Grays will lead the Blue Demons into action at Butler on Friday where coach Doug Bruno is poised to win No. 700 in his iconic Hall of Fame career.
