CHICAGO – The No. 22 DePaul women’s basketball team returns to the hardwood at 1:30 p.m. (CT) on Feb. 12 against Marquette.   Sunday’s game will be televised on ESPN2 as part of the networks February Frenzy with Beth Mowins and Brooke Weisbrod calling the action courtside.   Cami Padilla and Patricia Babcock-McGraw will also call the game for DePaul’s BlueTube.  GameTracker is also available while in-game scoring and notes can be followed at www.twitter.com/DePaulWBBSID.

For the rivalry game that dates back to 1978, DePaul and Marquette will both wear their pink infused uniforms in support of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund which is committed to the fight against women’s cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.

DePaul leads the all-time series with Marquette 34-21 while the two programs have been conference rivals since the 1987 season -- both were members of the North Star, Great Midwest Conference, Conference USA and now the BIG EAST. Marquette moved to the Midwestern Collegiate Conference for the 1989-90 and 1990-91 seasons, but the two programs still played as nonconference rivals.

DePaul has won six of the last seven meetings, while the two teams split their games last season.  DePaul won in Lincoln Park, 64-56, while Marquette topped the Blue Demons 60-53 in Milwaukee.  DePaul owns a 20-5 record in games played in Chicago including the last two.

The Blue Demons (18-7, 6-5) are led by juniors Anna Martin and Katherine Harry.  Martin leads the team and ranks second in the BIG EAST with 18.4 points per game.  Harry has come alive under the basket and paces the BIG EAST with 9.5 rebounds per game.   The junior has recorded double-digit rebounds in four of her last five games including a career-best 20 boards against Louisville.

Marquette (13-10, 4-6) has dropped four of its last five games, but is coming off a 72-48 win over Pittsburgh on Feb. 4.  Katherine Plouffe (14.0) and Arlesia Morse (10.3) both average double-figures for the Golden Eagles while Plouffe paces the team with 8.7 rebounds per game.

In helping raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund on Sunday, there will be a live raffle which will include Nike Pink gear, a pink iPod shuffle, and a postgame "Meet and Greet" with Coach Doug Bruno.  Fans can also purchase DePaul PINK t-shirts for $10.  All proceeds from the t-shirts and raffle tickets will be donated to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

Fans and community members can join the Blue Demon’s Play4Kay efforts by purchasing “memory” or “fighter” cards which will be displayed in the Sullivan Athletic Center (2323 N. Sheffield Ave.) as part of a donation tree.  The donation tree will be comprised of notes along with pictures dedicated to cancer survivors, fighters, and victims.

Following Sunday’s game, the Blue Demons head to West Virginia for a BIG EAST game with the Mountaineers on Feb. 18.  Tip is scheduled for 3 p.m. (CT) and can be heard on DePaul’s BlueTube.
