LOUISVILLE – The DePaul women’s basketball team returns to the court and plays at No. 10/11 Louisville on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. (ET). The BIG EAST Conference clash will be carried on ESPNU with Jim Barbar and Sonya Beeler calling the action.

Separated by one game in the BIG EAST standings, Sunday’s showdown also marks the second meeting between these two teams this season. The Blue Demons (18-7, 7-4 BIG EAST) and Cardinals (20-5, 8-3 BIG EAST) met on Jan. 5 in Chicago, with DePaul securing an 86-80 victory behind 22 points from Anna Martin and 21 from Brittany Hrynko. Monique Reid came off the bench for the Cardinals to score 25 points.
Sunday’ meeting marks the 31st all-time series meeting between the two programs. DePaul leads the all-time series 16-14. The Cardinals are 9-4 in games played in Louisville and have won four straight on their home court including two consecutive at the KFC Yum! Center.
Hyrnko leads the Blue Demons in scoring with 17.7 points against BIG EAST opponents. The sophomore guard provided some late second heroics in DePaul’s 60-57 win over Rutgers on Feb. 12. In league games, the Philadelphia native ranks in the top 15 in 3-pointers per game (3rd -- 2.8), assists (5th - 5.2), minutes (5th -- 36.5), steals (T7th - 2.6), defensive rebounds (9th -- 4.5) and assist-to-turnover ratio (15th - 0.9).
Katherine Harry has been a monster on the boards this season and leads the BIG EAST with 10.7 rebounds per game. Her 505 career rebounds in BIG EAST games ranks 19th all-time in the BIG EAST. The Columbia, Missouri native needs two rebounds tie Nicole Michael (2006-10 - Syracuse) for 18th all-time in the BIG EAST and nine rebounds to tie for 17th in the league’s record book.
Louisville is coming off a 93-64 loss at Notre Dame on Feb. 11. The Cardinals were paced by Bria Smith’s 18 points and five assists. On the season, Smith is averaging just 8.4 points and 2.0 assists per game. Shoni Schimmel leads the Cardinals with 14.1 points.
Following Sunday’s game, the Blue Demons break for a week before returning to Lincoln Park to take on rival Notre Dame on Feb. 24 at 2:30 p.m. (CT). The game between DePaul and the Irish will be telecast on ESPNU
