DePaul and Syracuse Clash at 8 p.m. at McGrath-Phillips Arena

CHICAGO – The No. 21/20 DePaul women’s basketball team returns to Lincoln Park for midweek BIG EAST Conference clash with Syracuse. The Blue Demons and Orange hit the hardwood at 8 p.m. (CT) while the game can be seen live on CBS Sports Network with Tammy Blackburn and James Bates calling the action courtside.

The Blue Demons (20-7, 9-5 BIG EAST) enter Tuesday’s game on a three-game winning streak and are coming off a 77-63 win at West Virginia on Saturday. DePaul erased a 14-point deficit and moved into a tie for fifth place in the BIG EAST Regular Season standings. The Blue Demons are currently tied with Louisville and will face the Cardinals at the KFC Yum! Center on Feb. 25.
Against the Mountaineers, Brittany Hrynko paced the Blue Demons with 21 points and dished out six assists. The DePaul freshman has become an assist machine during conference play and is averaging 4.6 per game. In her last six games, Hrynko is averaging 6.5 assists and had a career-best nine at Notre Dame.
Syracuse (16-11, 5-8 BIG EAST) is coming off a 79-63 win at Marquette on Saturday. The Orange’s win snapped a two-game skid with losses to Notre Dame and at Louisville. Syracuse is led by Iasia Hemingway and Kayla Alexander’s 15-plus points per game. Hemingway leads the team with 15.8 points and Alexander follows with 15.4. The duo also combines for 13.6 of the Orange’s 46.1 rebounds per game.
At Tuesday’s game, the Blue Demons will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) by honoring DePaul’s female student-athletes and members of the Spirit Squads at halftime. NGWSD celebrates the advocacy, education and the promotion of girls and women in sport.
Following Tuesday’s contest, the Blue Demons hit the road and play at Louisville on Saturday. The game between DePaul and the Cardinals has been tabbed the BIG EAST Game of the Week while Bob Picozzi and LaChina Robinson will handle the announcing duties.
