CHICAGO – For the fifth time this season, DePaul’s Keisha Hampton was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll it was announced by the league office on Tuesday. Connecticut’s Maya Moore was named the Player of the Week and Cincinnati’s Kayla earned Freshman of the Week honors. This is the final conference weekly awards for the 2010-11 season.
Hampton averaged 18.0 points in DePaul’s three games last week. The forward has led DePaul in scoring 14 times this season and twice last week. She scored 20 points at Louisville and followed that up with a 17-point performance at Marquette. The junior was 18-of-42 (.429) from the field and finished the week with six 3-pointers.
Hampton was clutch at the free throw line, converting on 12-of-15 attempts. She was perfect at Louisville (6-of-6) and in DePaul’s 70-69 win over Notre Dame on Monday.
The Philadelphia native averaged 3.7 rebounds per outing while she tallied eight steals and had three blocks.
The Blue Demons (26-5, 13-3) head to the BIG EAST Conference Championship as the No. 2 seed and received a two-round bye into the quarterfinals. DePaul plays on Sunday, March 6 at 5 p.m. (CST) while both the quarterfinal and semifinal games will be televised on ESPNU.
