Blue Demons and Cougars play their NCAA First Round game on Saturday at Allstate Arena

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The seventh-seeded DePaul women's basketball team spent Friday preparing for its First Round NCAA Tournament game with tenth-seeded BYU. The Blue Demons met the media and practiced at the Allstate in preparations for Saturday's first round game with the Cougars. DePaul and BYU play in the second half of a women's basketball doubleheader on Saturday that tips 30 minutes after the conclusion of second-seeded Tennessee and No. 15 UT-Martin which starts at 3:10. Brooke Weisbrod and Jon Sciambi will call both games live for ESPN2 and ESPN3.com.
DePaul and BYU are meeting for just the sixth time in the program's history while it is the first time since Jan. 20, 1990 that the two teams meet. The Blue Demons own a slight 3-2 series lead, while the Cougars won the last meeting in Utah in 1990. Prior to the Cougars' win, the Blue Demons had won three straight in the series.
DePaul (22-10) earned a No. 7 seed in the tournament and are led by its junior -- Anna Martin and Katherine Harry. Martin leads the BIG EAST Conference in scoring with 19.1 points while Harry averages a league-best, 9.6 rebounds per outing.
DePaul is making its tenth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance while Saturday's game marks the 17th time the Blue Demons have played in tournament. DePaul is just one of 11 programs to have reached the NCAA Tournament in the last 10 years and joins the ranks of -- Connecticut, Duke, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Stanford, Tennessee and Vanderbilt on this exclusive list.
BYU (26-6) won the West Coast Conference Tournament Championship and returns to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007. The Cougars, lead the NCAA with 19.1 assists per game while their 1.22 assist/turnover ratio ranks sixth.
All-Session tickets for the NCAA First and Second Rounds are currently on sale and can be purchased through the DePaul Athletics Ticket office (773) 325-SLAM (7526) for $42 (adults) and $17 (students and youth) each. All session tickets are for both games on Saturday and Monday's second round game.
Single-session tickets are available through the DePaul Ticket Office or any Ticketmaster outlet. Groups of 10 or more should contact a DePaul ticket representative with group rates starting at $10 a ticket.
