Doug Bruno to Throw First Pitch at Orioles-White Sox Game
CHICAGO – DePaul women’s basketball coach Doug Bruno will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Friday night’s Chicago White Sox-Baltimore Orioles game at U.S. Cellular Field. Bruno, the 2005 Conference USA Coach of the Year, led the Blue Demons to their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance this past season. DePaul went 26-5 on their way to the C-USA regular-season championship that included a league-record 13-game conference winning streak. In 19 seasons at his alma mater, Bruno holds a 348-210 record and was named the Conference USA Coach of the Decade by his coaching peers in 2005. Overall, he has led DePaul to 10 NCAA Tournament appearances. DePaul joins the BIG EAST Conference next season along with current league partners Cincinnati, Louisville, Marquette and South Florida.
