Bruno to be Featured on NBC 5

CHICAGO – On Thursday night, DePaul women’s basketball head coach Doug Bruno will be featured on NBC 5 tonight at 5 p.m. after sitting down with Lauren Jiggetts to discuss his upcoming role at the 2012 London Olympics and his annual Doug Bruno Camp. Bruno heads to the Olympics as an assistant coach for the United States Women’s National Team alongside head coach Geno Auriemma (University of Connecticut) and fellow assistant coaches Jennifer Gillom (Washington Mystics) and Marynell Meadors (Atlanta Dream). The Blue Demon head coach talks with Jiggetts about his expectations for the Summer Games after serving as an assistant coach for the 2010 USA World Championship Team where he helped the American women earn a 9-0 record, the gold medal and a berth to the 2012 Olympic Games. The women’s national team opens up the preliminary round on July 28 against Croatia. In addition to their discussion on the Summer Games, Jiggetts and Bruno also converse about what it’s like teaching the youth at his annual Doug Bruno Camp.
