CHICAGO – Coming off a trip to the NCAA Sweet 16 a season ago, DePaul women’s basketball coach Doug Bruno announced his team’s 2014-15 non-conference schedule on Thursday.  The Blue Demons open their season against Texas A&M while contests against Notre Dame and Connecticut highlight DePaul’s difficult non-conference slate.

Looking at a rematch from last year’s Sweet 16, the Blue Demons begin their challenging schedule against Texas A&M on Nov. 14 at McGrath-Phillips Arena.  The game is part of a basketball tripleheader with Texas-Pan American and New Mexico tipping off in the first contest of DePaul’s annual Maggie Dixon Classic.  The Blue Demons and Aggies follow before the DePaul men and UIC hit the hardwood in the evening’s finale.

Entering the tournament’s sixth year, the 2014 Maggie Dixon Classic debuts a new three-day format with the Blue Demons and Texas-Pan American squaring off on Nov. 15 and a game with New Mexico is slated for the next afternoon.

DePaul heads to the Allstate Arena, home of the 2015 BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Tournament, for a doubleheader with the men’s team on Nov. 18. The women and Bradley play in Rosemont before DePaul returns to Lincoln Park for games with South Dakota State (Nov. 22) and Northwestern on Nov. 29.

The Blue Demons play all four of their non-conference road games in the month of December which is highlighted by a trip to 2014 NCAA Champion Connecticut on Dec. 19.  DePaul also travels to Chicago State (Dec. 7), Loyola (Dec. 17) and close out the non-conference schedule at Illinois State on Dec. 28.

Last year’s NCAA runner-up and rival Notre Dame visits Lincoln Park on Dec. 10 for the 40th all-time meeting between the two programs.

The Blue Demons host Hampton on Dec. 22 which closes out the home portion of their non-conference schedule.

DePaul returns four of its five starters – Brittany Hrynko, Megan Rogowski, Chanise Jenkins and Megan Podkowa – from last season which saw the Blue Demons win both the BIG EAST Conference regular season and tournament championships. DePaul reached the NCAA Tournament for the 12th consecutive season and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the third time in program history.
