"Merci" "Bonjour" two of the most frequent words I have heard since we boarded our plane to France!
I was not sure of what this trip would bring me. My friends and family constantly would ask me in the weeks before the trip, "Are you excited!??" And I would respond, "Eh, yeah sure. It's France", nonchalantly. However, this feeling changed once I made it to the airport. I became ecstatic. I had finally come to the realization that I was leaving the country for the first time! It was at that moment, that I was ready to take on what was in store for me.
The trip started off with an eight hour flight which was relaxing. Usually for long flights, most people like to sleep, but I decided to take advantage of that time. I watched a few movies, played a couple games on my tablet, and jammed out to some music on my iPod. We were given two meals and dessert and I was very pleased! I did not know that airplane food tasted so good!
Once landing in France, we immediately jumped right into exploring the wonderful city of Paris. We grabbed lunch and then toured the Notre-Dame Cathedral. I was really impressed by how greatly detailed the cathedral was sculpted, especially since it was built so many years ago.
After touring Paris, we headed to check into the hotel and get some rest before dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. The food was amazing and very well seasoned. We were served salad, steak, scalloped potatoes, and enjoyed lemon-meringue pie for dessert! They were good portion sizes so that you aren't over eating.
I am exhausted after traveling, but today has been wonderful! So far, I love this experience and looking forward to what each day brings.
