DePaul returns three of starters – Chanise Jenkins, Penny and Hrynko -- from last season which saw the Blue Demons make their 11th straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.  Since 2003, only nine programs in Division I have reached the NCAA Tournament in consecutive seasons.

The trio of returning starters accounted for 81.4 percent of DePaul’s offense from a season ago, while Hrynko led the team with 14.7 points per outing.

Hrynko, who was named the Preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year, enters her junior season with 852 career points and 293 assists.  The Philadelphia native is on track to become DePaul’s 29th 1,000-point scorer.  Penny is also nearing the century mark and beings her final season in Lincoln Park with 849 points.

After signing an extension keeping the iconic women’s coach in Lincoln Park through 2018-19, Doug Bruno begins his 28th season at the helm of the Blue Demon program.  Bruno has led DePaul to 17; 20-win seasons and is responsible for all 18 of the program’s trips to the NCAA Tournament.

Following Tuesday’s game, the Blue Demons play their final exhibition tune-up against Illinois Wesleyan.  DePaul and the Titans tip at 7 p.m. on Nov. 1.

The Blue Demons begin their regular season by hosting the Maggie Dixon Classic, Nov. 8 and 9.  DePaul opens the regular season against Harvard on Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. and will play either Duquesne or Cal Poly at 6 p.m. on Nov. 9.
