CHICAGO - The DePaul women's basketball team entered the Associated Press Poll in the No. 25 spot on Monday. The Blue Demons, who host Illinois State at 7 p.m. tonight at McGrath-Phillips Arena, enter the national poll for the first time since being ranked No. 25 in the preseason AP Poll in 2012.

Corresponding with the polls' announcement, senior forward Jasmine Penny was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll.  Penny was named the Most Valuable Player of the Maggie Dixon Championship and helped DePaul get off to a perfect 2-0 start to the season.

Against Harvard, Penny led DePaul's offense for 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in just 14 minutes of action.  Penny's 17 points came on 6-of-7 shooting while she was also a perfect 5-for-5 at the free throw line.

The next night against Duquesne, the senior from Logansport, Ind., notched 14 points and grabbed three rebounds which propelled the Blue Demons to an 88-77 victory over the Dukes.

For the week, Penny boasted a .733 field goal percentage on 11-of-15 shooting.  She also averaged 15.5 points in 20.0 minutes per game.

Marquette's Katherine Plouffe was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week and Georgetown's Natalie Butler earned the league's Rookie of the Week honors.

Alexis Harris (Providence), Aliyyah Handford (St. John's), Emily Leer (Villanova) and Shatyra Hawkes (Xavier) all joined Penny on the conference's weekly honor.  The weekly awards were the first of the season.
