Women's 50-Player Watch List
CHICAGO - DePaul junior guard Brittany Hrynko is one of 50 players to be named to the 2013-14 Naismith Trophy early-season watch list. The Naismith Women's College Player of the Year is presented by AT&T and was first awarded in 1983.
The 50 player watch list was compiled by the Atlanta Tipoff Club's Board of Selectors, which based its criteria on player performances from the previous year and expectations for the 2013-14 college basketball season.
Hrynko is the only player from the BIG EAST Conference to be named to the early season watch list. As a sophomore she was named the BIG EAST Co-Most Improved Player of the Year and was also a first-team all-conference selection.
This season, Hrynko has led DePaul to a 3-0 record, while the Blue Demons are ranked No. 25 in the Associated Press poll. The Philadelphia native is the 2013-14 preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year and is averaging 16.3 points and 5.0 assists per game.
Hrynko is on track to become DePaul's 29th 1,000-point scorer and has accumulated 904 points in her 70 games in Lincoln Park. The junior is also on track rank in DePaul's top 10 for 3-point field goals, 3-point field goal attempts and assists.
DePaul returns to the hardwood at 6 p.m. (CT) at No. 5/6 Notre Dame on Tues., Nov. 26. The Blue Demons game with the Irish is the first road contest for DePaul this season.
