CHICAGO – The DePaul women’s basketball team puts its four-game McGrath-Phillips Arena winning streak on the line when it welcomes Northern Illinois for a 7 p.m. game on Dec. 15. Cami Padilla and Trish Babcock-McGraw will call the Blue Demons and Huskies 41st all-time meeting on DePaul’s BlueTube. Saturday’s game marks a two-game stretch for the Blue Demons against programs from the State of Illinois. DePaul plays at Loyola-Chicago on Dec. 18. The Blue Demons have won 16-straight against schools from Illinois while they recorded an 89-61 victory over Northwestern on Dec. 2.
DePaul (7-3) enter its contest against Northern Illinois (3-4) after defeating Milwaukee 94-83 on Tuesday and has won six of its last eight games.
Against the Panthers, Anna Martin paced DePaul with a season-high 30 points and Jasmine Penny tied a season-high with 22. On the year, Penny paces three Blue Demons with 14 or more points. The junior forward is averaging 14.9, with Martin following at 14.3 and Brittany Hrynko adding 14.2.
An effective shooter from behind the arc, Hrynko leads the Blue Demons with 29 3-pointers. The sophomore from Philadelphia is second in the BIG EAST Conference with 2.9 triples per game, while her .382 percentage from behind the arc ranks 10th.
To go along with Hrynko’s scoring threat, the sophomore also ranks third in the BIG EAST with 4.9 assists per game. Chanise Jenkins is second in the league with 5.2 and Martin is sixth with 4.6 assists per game. The Blue Demon guard trio is responsible for 142 of the team’s 190 assists.
Northern Illinois has lost three of its last four games entering Saturday’s game. The Huskies are 1-3 on the road, including a 58-52 loss at Indiana State on Dec. 4.
NIU is paced by Amanda Corral’s 12.7 points while Stavia Taylor also averages double-digits. The Huskies are shooting .446 from the field while opponents are shooting just .393.
DePaul holds a 33-7 series advantage and has won the last 18 games against the Huskies dating back to the 1995 season. DePaul is 18-2 in games played in Lincoln Park including the last 20.

No. 19/21 DePaul Closes Out NIU and 2011 on an Afternoon of Milestones
Anna Martin scored her 1,000th career point, and led all scorers with 30, as the No. 19/21 DePaul women's basketball team defeated the Northern Illinois 65-46 on Saturday at McGrath-Phillips Arena on New Year's Eve. DePaul resumes BIG EAST Conference play at Georgetown on Tuesday.
