CHICAGO – DePaul senior forward Katherine Harry was named to the BIG EAST Conference Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll it was announced on Sunday. The weekly award is the senior’s second of her career and first of the season.
Harry was named to the league’s honor roll after recording a career-best 22 rebounds in DePaul’s 87-69 win at Loyola on Dec. 18. Her 22 rebounds was the sixth-best rebounding performance in DePaul’s history while it is the most by a BIG EAST Conference player this season.
For the week, Harry averaged 14.5 rebounds while her season average stands at 11.3 which is 2.0 more rebounds than any other league player. The Columbia, Missouri native helped DePaul to a 2-0 week and added 8.0 points, 2.0 assists and 1.0 block per game.
Notre Dame’s Skylar Diggins was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week and Connecticut’s Breanna Stewart earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Harry becomes the third DePaul player to earn a BIG EAST weekly honor this season. Anna Martin was the conference’s Player of the Week last week and Megan Rogowski was named to the honor roll on Dec. 3.
DePaul (10-3) puts it four-game winning streak on the line when it closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule on Dec. 28 against Oral Roberts. The game tips at 7 p.m. at McGrath-Phillips Arena.
