Dec. 23, 2017

CHICAGO – After a strong all-around game on Wednesday, senior guard Amarah Coleman has earned her first BIG EAST Conference weekly accolade of the season.

Coleman was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll Saturday after coming through with 20 points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists in leading DePaul to an 85-71 victory as coach Doug Bruno’s team finished off the nonconference portion of its schedule.

The result at McGrath-Phillips Arena sent the Blue Demons into their Christmas break with an overall record of 8-4. They open the BIG EAST season Thursday with a home game against Seton Hall.

With those 20 points, the preseason All-BIG EAST selection moved within 146 points of the 1,000-point plateau for her career.

On the season, Coleman is DePaul’s second-leading scorer at 13.7 points per game. She is also averaging 4.3 rebounds and 3.42 assists while shooting 38.3 percent from three-point range.
