COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The DePaul women’s soccer team’s season-opening, six-match road trip came to an end on Sunday as the Blue Demons were edged by No. 12 Texas A&M 2-0.

While the Blue Demons (2-4-0) held Texas A&M (3-0-1) scoreless in the opening half of play, allowing just three shots, the Aggies would net two second half goals to take the victory.

TAMU’s Ally Watt put the Aggies ahead 1-0 in the 48th minute, placing a shot from six yards out into the back of the net.  Mikaela Harvey would follow up with an unassisted, breakaway goal in the 81st minute to give the Aggies some insurance in the final minutes of the contest, leading to the 2-0 win.

“We played very disciplined against a Top 15 program,” said head coach Erin Chastain. “We had some great chances, including our first play of the match, and kept things tight in the first half.  We put together a tough opening portion of our schedule and have been battle-tested along the way.  Our team looks forward to coming back to Chicago and hosting our home-opener on Friday.”

DePaul will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 8 when the Blue Demons host Pepperdine at 3 p.m. in their 2017 home opener at Wish Field.
