Box Score

CHICAGO - The DePaul women's soccer team dropped its first BIG EAST match of 2017 on Thursday as the Blue Demons were downed by 17th-ranked Georgetown 4-0 at Wish Field.

"Georgetown is definitely a tough team, and they are ranked in the Top 20 for a reason," said head coach Erin Chastain.  "Each day, our team is searching for its new identity as we try different combinations and positions with our healthy players.  This is going to be a continued process for us while we figure out our best fit with the active players we have available.  Sunday is another opportunity to progress as we face Creighton."

The Hoyas (8-2-1, 2-0-0 BIG EAST) carried a 3-0 lead at the break, receiving a goal by Rachel Corboz in the 27th minute and two strikes by Amanda Carolan in the 37th and 43rd minutes.  Georgetown netted an insurance goal just three minutes into the second half to cap off the 4-0 win.

Next, the Blue Demons travel to Omaha, Neb., where they will continue BIG EAST play, opening the month of October with a head-to-head battle against Creighton.
