CHICAGO – DePaul women’s soccer player Julianne Sitch is in the midst of a week-long session working out with the women’s U-21 U.S. Soccer team.  She is one of 30 players spending 10 days at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

Sitch is vying for one of the coveted spots to represent the United States at the Nordic Cup this summer.  The Nordic Cup takes place in July in Iceland and is the premier international women’s soccer tournament for the U-21 age group.

Following the current training session, Sitch could be invited back to California for another training session as they narrow down the list for the summer schedule.

Sitch is coming off a sophomore season that saw her earn second team All-America honors as well as Conference USA Player of the Year recognition.  She rewrote both the season and career recordbooks last season while the Blue Demons won the C-USA Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.
