Women's Soccer Recruiting Class Ranked in Great Lakes Region
CHICAGO – For the second straight year, DePaul women’s soccer coach John Wilson has recruited one of the top freshman classes in the Great Lakes Region. The incoming class for next season is ranked 16th in the region and in the top 100 in the country by Soccer Buzz Magazine.
A year ago, Wilson signed the No. 11 recruiting class in the region. DePaul went on to post program records for wins (10), goals scored (29), shutouts (7) and goals against average (1.20). Overall, the club finished with a 10-8-1 record while going 3-6-1 in Conference USA action.
The Blue Demons are one of three Conference USA schools in the Great Lakes Region top 25 and one of seven league programs in the nation’s top 100 recruiting classes.
DePaul opens the 2003 season with an exhibition game at Wisconsin on Aug. 23. The regular season opener is set for Aug. 29 at Nebraska. Following another road match at UW-Green Bay on Aug. 31, DePaul plays their first home match on Sept. 5 against Toledo.
