CHICAGO – With summer well underway, DePaul women’s soccer head coach Erin Chastain has released her squad’s schedule for the 2012 season.  The Blue Demons once again face a tough slate as they look to make a return to the postseason.

After an exhibition match against crosstown Northwestern, Chastain’s team opens the regular season with four straight home matches against non-conference opponents. First, the Blue Demons take on Towson at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 17 at DePaul’s own Wish Field. That Sunday, DePaul welcomes Horizon League foe Loyola for a 1 p.m. contest.

The following Friday, August 24, the Blue Demons host Ohio University at 4 p.m. before Valparaiso comes to the city on Sunday for a 4 p.m. game.

After the four-game homestand, DePaul hits the road for five straight. The Blue Demons close out August with a 6 p.m. match in Dayton, Ohio, on the 31st against Wright State. On Sunday, September 2, DePaul takes on host Dayton at noon.

The next weekend DePaul heads to Minnesota for two non-conference bouts. September 7 sees the Blue Demons compete in a neutral site contest against Iowa State before competing against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on September 9 in Minneapolis.

Before they return to Wish Field, the Blue Demons head to Cincinnati on Friday, September 14 for their first BIG EAST Conference matchup of the 2012 season. The 4 p.m. matchup comes two days before DePaul opens its home conference schedule against Louisville on September 16 at 1 p.m. in Lincoln Park.

The Blue Demons host a rare mid-week matchup on Thursday, September 20 when they welcome non-conference foe Saint Louis at 4 p.m. but DePaul gets right back into BIG EAST play that Sunday when it hosts Pittsburgh at 1 p.m.

September 28 and 30 hold road contests for the Blue Demons as they take on Connecticut and Providence, respectively. Fans can see the squad back at Wish Field on October 5 for a noon matchup against Rutgers. The Blue Demons continue their Friday-Sunday theme as they welcome Seton Hall for a 1 p.m. contest on October 7.

DePaul travels one last time during the regular season on October 12 and 14 as it faces Villanova and Georgetown. The Blue Demons final home contest comes on Friday, October 19 when Notre Dame comes to town for a 3p.m. matchup on DePaul’s senior day.
