Hanold Honored Among Top Soccer Players in the Country

CHICAGO - The honors keep rolling in for a DePaul women's soccer team that is off to one of its best starts in the program's 14-year history.

Late Tuesday night, freshman goalkeeper was chosen as a national Primetime Player of the Week by CollegeSoccer360.com after her performance last week.Claire Hanold

Hanold and the Blue Demon back line combined to hold Toledo scoreless in a two-overtime, 0-0 tie last Friday at Wish Field. Two days later, Hanold helped the Blue Demons upset then-No. 11 Missouri 1-0 on the road in the school's biggest regular-season win.

CollegeSoccer360.com will select 18 players from around the country each week as its Primetime Players. In four matches this season, Hanold already has three shutouts. DePaul had two shutouts last season.

In addition, DePaul was ranked No. 30 by CollegeSoccer360.com. On Monday, Soccer America ranked DePaul at No. 20---the first time the Blue Demons have been ranked in a national poll. The victory over Missouri was also its first over a nationally ranked team.

Along with the Primetime Player recognition, Hanold was chosen as the BIG EAST's Rookie of the Week. Teammate Dominique Locascio was named BIG EAST Defender of the Week. She was the first Blue Demon to win that honor in women's soccer.
