Soccer Teams Go On the Road This Weekend
The DePaul men's and women's soccer will be on the road this weekend as the women play head north to Wisconsin-Green Bay and the men open league play at Charlotte. Both teams are looking for their first victories of the season with the men at 0-2 and the women at 0-4.
DePaul at Wisconsin-Green Bay The Blue Demons are led offensively by Courtney Hannel. The freshman midfielder has scored both Blue Demon goals this season. In Wednesday night's 3-1 at Loyola, she scored her second goal of the year with a 15-yard shot from the right side. Her first goal of the season came in the home opener against Eastern Illinois on a one-timer from Andrea Toth. After the Phoenix, the Blue Demons will return to Wish Field on September 15 to play Conference USA foe Cincinnati. The match is set to kickoff at 4 p.m.
DePaul at Charlotte Last weekend, DePaul opened the season at Michigan. The Wolverines scored an early goal and held on for the 1-0 victory. On Sunday afternoon, the Blue Demons opened the home portion of the schedule against Eastern Illinois. The Panthers won the match, 6-2, at Wish Field.
The Blue Demons will be on the road until September 20 when they host Northwestern. Up next for DePaul is Drake. The Blue Demons will play at Drake on September 13 at 4 p.m. Three days later, they will travel to Jacksonville, Florida to play in the Jacksonville Tournament.
