Cerny Tabbed BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

CHICAGO - The BIG EAST released its women's soccer weekly honors on Monday, naming DePaul junior Franny Cerny its Offensive Player of the Week.  Senior goalkeeper Lauren Frasca also received Weekly Honor Roll recognition from the conference.

Cerny, a Berkeley, Calif. native, netted the first hat-trick in the BIG EAST this season with a trio of goals in Sunday's 4-0 win over William & Mary. The Blue Demons went 2-0 on the weekend, including a 1-0 victory over RV Pepperdine, with Cerny totaling six points and five shots. Through eight matches, Cerny leads DePaul in points (11), tallying a team-best five goals while dishing out one assist.
Frasca played over 170 minutes of scoreless soccer in a 2-0 weekend for the Blue Demons, making four saves in Friday's 1-0 win over RV Pepperdine before stopping five shots in a 4-0 win over William & Mary on Sunday.
