Julianne Sitch Named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week

CHICAGO For the second time in the last three weeks, Julianne Sitch has been named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week.  The sophomore shares the league's weekly honor with UAB's Jill Knottek.  Sitch led the Blue Demons to a pair of C-USA wins this weekend while the club is off to the best start in the program's eight-year history.

Against Houston on Friday, she scored the game's only goal on a penalty kick in the 89th minute.  The Oswego, Ill., native came back on Sunday and assisted the first Blue Demon goal before sealing the match with her own score in the 85th minute.  For the weekend, Sitch took seven shots in addition to the two goals and an assist.

Through eight matches, Sitch leads C-USA with 16 points on seven goals and a pair of assists.  Four of her eight scores this season have been game-winners.  Twice this season Sitch has scored two goals in a match at UW-Green Bay and against Toledo.

Over 27 career games, Sitch is among all-time leaders in DePaul soccer history.  Her 37 points are tied for the career scoring record with Christy Young.  Her goal against TCU moved her into first place on the career goals chart with 15 and her seven career assists are tied for second all-time.  As a freshman, she set the DePaul single-season record with 21 points on eight goals and five assists.
