CHICAGO - The DePaul women's soccer team goes on the road this weekend for a pair of Conference USA matches at Memphis and TCU. Checking Out the Opponents UAB hosts Marquette on Friday afternoon before playing the Blue Demons on Sunday. They start the weekend at 3-4-0 and 1-1-0 in league play. TCU snapped a three-match losing streak with a 3-2 double overtime win over Saint Louis on Sept. 23. This is the first meeting between the Horned Frogs and Blue Demons. Last Time Out - UAB 4, DePaul 0 UAB scored their first goal in the 11th minute as Adrienne Suffridge scored on a goal assisted by Cindy Penaranda. That score would remain the same throughout the first half and into the intermission. In the second half, the Blazers struck three more times. At 49:25, Denis Peters scored to give UAB the 2-0 advantage. The final two goals of the match came at 77:38 and 80:45 by Jennifer Calalang and Jenny Rynders, respectively. DePaul was unable to get much going offensively as they were outshot, 17-5. Combine the soggy field and UAB's 16-5 advantage in fouls and it made opportunities tough for the Blue Demons. Honor Roll Dotson-Newman earned league honors after scoring a goal in the 3-1 win over Valparaiso and assisting on two scores in the 3-0 victory over Wisconsin-Green Bay. For the season, the junior college transfer has scored twice to go with the two assists. Young was the offensive player of the week after scoring twice and adding an assist in DePaul's first two wins of the season over Indiana State and Western Illinois. She has five goals and an assist in the five 2001 matches. In addition to the league honors, senior Katie Hawkins was named to the Soccer America Team of the Week for Sept. 10-16. She earned the honor after coming off the bench and scoring against IPFW. Looking at Next Week
