DePaul Women's Soccer Drops C-USA Match
Two goals by Charlotte defender Laura Lockwood was too much for the DePaul Blue Demons as the 49ers won, 2-0, on Friday afternoon at Wish Field. With the loss, the Blue Demons dropped to 3-7 overall and 2-3 in Conference USA while Charlotte improved to 7-5-1 and 4-0-1 in league play. Charlotte's first goal came in the second minute of the match as Lockwood scored off a corner kick from Jill Currie. The score stayed that way until Lockwood struck again at 56:58. Shannon Roberto and Jessica Mays were credited with assists on the score. In the match, the Blue Demons were outshot 13-11. Of DePaul's shots, eight came in the second half when the Blue Demons had a number of chances to put a goal on the scoreboard.
The next scheduled match for the Blue Demons is Sunday against the South Florida Bulls. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
