Cerny Receives BIG EAST Weekly Honors Recognition
Oct. 2, 2017

NEW YORK – The BIG EAST released its women’s soccer weekly honors on Monday, naming DePaul junior forward Franny Cerny to its weekly honor roll.

Monday’s selection is Cerny’s second recognition of the season by the BIG EAST as she was named the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week on September 11.

Against Creighton, Cerny tallied her sixth and seventh goals of the season in DePaul’s 2-0 win against the Bluejays.  Through 12 matches, Cerny leads DePaul with 16 points, tallying a BIG EAST best seven goals while dishing out two assists.

Cerny, a Berkeley, Calif. native, has started and played in all 12 of the Blue Demons’ matches in 2017, firing off 36 shots while scoring the game-winning goal on three occasions.
