CHICAGO – Head coach John Wilson and the DePaul women's soccer team move out of Conference USA play with a Friday afternoon match against the Purdue Boilermakers.  Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at Wish Field on the Lincoln Park campus.  DePaul is 5-4-1 while the Boilermakers are 4-4-1.

Checking Out Purdue
The Boilermakers enter the match at 4-4-1 overall and 1-2-1 in Big Ten games.  In their last match, they lost to Ohio State, 1-0.  Purdue leads the all-time series, 3-0-0, including last year’s 3-0 win in West Lafayette.

Courtney Coppedge and Lauren Sesselmann lead the team with four goals apiece.  Sesselmann also leads the club with four assists in nine matches.  Head coach Robert Klatte is in his fourth season at Purdue and is the only coach in the program’s history.

Last Time Out - TCU 2, DePaul 0
The DePaul women's soccer team wrapped a weekend Conference USA trip with a 2-0 loss at TCU on Sunday afternoon.  The Blue Demons suffered their second straight shutout as they lost at Memphis, 1-0, on Friday night.  With the loss, the Blue Demons dropped to 5-4-1 overall and 0-3-1 in C-USA play.  The Horned Frogs improved to 4-5-1 and 2-2-0 in league competition.

The Frogs' first goal came just before the 25th minute of play on a header by Jenn Coulson. Tiffany Goetz set up Coulson from the right side after taking a pass from Jenny Swanson.  TCU's second score came when Nicole Carman found the net in the 86th minute. The goal came after Goetz was awarded an indirect free kick, which she lofted to the top of the penalty box to Swanson who one-touched the ball to Carman. Carman then took the 18-yarder from the left side for the final 2-0 decision.

The Blue Demons were outshot by a margin of 22-8.  Of DePaul's eight shots, three came in the first eight minutes of play.  From that point, the Blue Demons were only able to get five shot off the rest of the match.

In goal, freshman Lindsey Deason recorded a season-high 10 saves while allowing the two scores.

Honor Roll
For the first time in the program's history, two different players have been named C-USA Player of the Week in the same season.  Christy Young and Ogonnaya Dotson-Newman have earned league honors for the first two weeks of the season.  Kelly Kaiser took defensive honors once in 1998 and 1997.

Dotson-Newman earned league honors after scoring a goal in the 3-1 win over Valparaiso and assisting on two scores in the 3-0 victory over Wisconsin-Green Bay.  For the season, the junior college transfer has scored twice to go with the two assists.

Young was the offensive player of the week after scoring twice and adding an assist in DePaul's first two wins of the season over Indiana State and Western Illinois.  She has five goals and an assist in the five 2001 matches.

In addition to the league honors, senior Katie Hawkins was named to the Soccer America Team of the Week for Sept. 10-16.  She earned the honor after coming off the bench and scoring against IPFW.
