Women's Soccer Loses Road Match
The DePaul women's soccer team dropped their final non-conference match of the season on Tuesday at Valparaiso. The Crusaders went ahead 1-0 in the first half and added two second-half goals in the 3-1 victory. The loss lowered DePaul's record to 3-9 on the season.
In the 12th minute, Jenny Prudhomme knocked in a rebound past DePaul goalkeeper Lauren Geiger to give Valparaiso the 1-0 lead. In the first half, the Blue Demons tallied five shots, but were unable to score.
The Crusaders added two more scores in the second half. Courtney Budd headed in a goal at 56:13 and Prudhomme scored her second goal of the match at 69:13.
Autumn Laidler scored the lone Blue Demon goal in the 83rd minute on a penalty kick after a hand-ball in the box. The goal was Laidler's second score of the year.
The Blue Demons will play a pair of Conference USA matches this weekend. They host Saint Louis on Friday at 3 p.m. following the DePaul men's team match against Memphis at 1 p.m. Houston will come to Wish Field on Sunday for the final home match of the season. Kickoff for Senior Day is 11 a.m.
