Women's Soccer Loses Season Finale At Marquette
The DePaul women's soccer team lost their final match of the season on Friday night at Marquette, 7-0. The Blue Demons ended the first half of the match down, 1-0, but gave up six second-half goals to the Golden Eagles. DePaul finished the season at 3-14 overall and 2-9 in Conference USA play.
Jill Vendetti scored the first two goals for Marquette and assisted on the third as the Golden Eagles broke the scoreless tie at 39:46. After halftime, the Golden Eagles broke open the match as they scored in the 47th, 52nd and 59th minute to build a 4-0 lead. Marquette added three more scores at 68:27, 75:32 and 79:36 for the 7-0 final. Marquette peppered DePaul goalkeepers with 23 shots while the Blue Demons were able to get off five shots at the Golden Eagle goal.
