Conference USA Announces Match Times for Women's Soccer Tournament

Sixth-seeded Blue Demons take on No. 3 Marquette at Noon EST on Wednesday in the first match of the 2003 Conference USA Tournament.

CHICAGO – The DePaul women’s soccer team will play in the first match of the 2003 Conference USA Tournament it was announced by the league offices. The sixth-seeded Blue Demons take on No. 3 seed Marquette at Noon EST on Wednesday in Charlotte, N.C. This is DePaul’s third C-USA Tournament appearance and first since 1997.

On Oct. 24, the Blue Demons knocked off the Golden Eagles, 1-0, at Wish Field. The victory was the first for DePaul over their neighbors from Milwaukee. Other teams making the league tournament were regular-season champion UAB, TCU, USF, Saint Louis, Tulane and host Charlotte.

In regular-season action DePaul defeated Marquette, UAB and TCU while dropping matches to Saint Louis and Charlotte. The Blue Demons did not face USF or Tulane during the regular season.

The three-day tourney kicks off with the Blue Demons and Golden Eagles at Noon EST on Wednesday followed by No. 2 TCU and No. 7 Tulane. The final two games of the first round are No. 4 USF against No. 5 Saint Louis and No. 8 Charlotte against top-seeded UAB.
