Following a season in which it made the BIG EAST Conference Tournament Quarterfinals, the DePaul women's soccer team under head coach Erin Chastain earned recognition from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for its academic efforts off the field. DePaul picked up the NSCAA Team Academic Award and finished among the best Division I programs in grade-point average.

Among the 504 women's teams to earn the award, DePaul's 3.47 GPA landed in the nation's Top 40.

From the NSCAA, the Team Academic Award demonstrates a team's goal-centered focus on their academic priority, recognizes and rewards all team members for commendable academic performance, adds an attractive feature to team members' college resumes that reflects commitment, responsibility, and discipline.

The Blue Demons are one of just four BIG EAST Conference women's soccer programs to crack the Top 40.
