Brian Rigby Named Interim Women's Soccer Coach
CHICAGO - DePaul University athletic director Jean Lenti Ponsetto announced today that Brian Rigby has been named interim women’s soccer coach for the duration of coach John Wilson’s leave of absence from the University. Rigby has spent the last two seasons as an assistant with the women’s soccer program. Rigby joined the program in 2005 as a volunteer assistant and was promoted to assistant coach prior to the start of last season. A veteran of the Chicagoland soccer scene, Rigby was President and Director of Coaching and Training for the Cosmos F.C. in Roselle, Ill. The Toronto native is a 1998 University of Illinois-Chicago graduate and has dual degrees in Marketing and Management. He holds a United States Soccer Federation National “C” Coaching License and NSCAA National Diploma. The Illinois ODP staff coach is also a certified coach by the Illinois High School Association and has a United States Amateur License. As a soccer student-athlete at UIC, Rigby was a Mid-Continent All-Conference honoree and a member of the Mid-Continent Conference Athletic Committee.
