Blue Demons Power Past Florida Gulf Coast
FORT MEYERS, Fla. Jackie Tarulli-Fisher’s grand slam in the fourth inning propelled the No. 13/13 DePaul softball team past Florida Gulf Coast 12-4 in six innings on Friday at the FGCU Spring Break Invitational. The Blue Demons (6-1) used 13 hits in their second win of the day. Amber Patton and Tarulli-Fisher both went 3-for-4, while Annie Demas and Shea Warren each recorded two RBI. Demas put the Blue Demons on the board with her first home run of the season, a two run blast over the right field wall. Three batters later and with the bases juiced, The Blue Demons added two more runs in the fifth. DePaul capitalized on a pair FGCU fielding errors and with a runner on, Patton knocked her second triple of the season to give the Blue Demons a 10-4 advantage. Brittney Yniguez and Katelyn Braget each tallied a RBI in the sixth frame to close out the 12-4 win. Dean (3-0) tossed a complete game for DePaul.
