Sandy Vojik led off the ballgame with a double to right field and two batters later Jackie Tarulli-Fisher dropped a RBI single into shallow right field to plate Vojik. Marcy Wilus followed and drilled a single to center to put runners on second and third for Heteniak. Heteniak helped her own cause, clearing the bases on a single center. Ashkar followed suit and sent an RBI single to right center to give the Blue Demons an early 4-0. The Blue Demons took advantage of a Santa Clara throwing error to plate the fifth run of the ballgame in the fourth frame.
