Softball Knocks Off Penn State

FULLERTON, Calif. -  The DePaul softball team improved to 7-8 on the season with a 4-1 victory over Penn State Thursday evening at the KIA Klassic.  The Blue Demons scattered seven hits while the pitching duo of Tracie Adix and Megan Huitink struck out seven batters.

 

The Blue Demons tied the ballgame, 1-1 in the third inning on a Dana Kenney double.  Kenney’s double scored Bandauski who singled to begin the inning.

 

DePaul posted another run in the fourth and added two more in the fifth to secure the win.  Jessica Evans, Katie Sheaks and Bandauski all recorded a RBI.

 

Adix got the start and Huitink came in for relief in the bottom of the fifth inning.  The duo gave up five hits and Adix improved to 5-2 on the season. 

 

The Blue Demons will be back in action on Friday, facing No. 15 Washington and No. 18 Nebraska at 3:30 and 8:15 (CST) respectively.  Championship play is scheduled to begin on Saturday and continue through Sunday.
