CHICAGO The No. 17/24 DePaul softball team begins its home and BIG EAST Conference portion of its schedule on Sunday, March 30. The Blue Demons welcome Notre Dame for a noon doubleheader at Cacciatore Stadium in Lincoln Park.
The Blue Demons (19-9) look to defend their 2007 BIG EAST regular season championship and their perfect 20-0 league record. Heteniak has 73 strikeouts on the season and is holding batters to a .177 average.
2007 All-Conference performers Sandy Vojik, Amber Patton and Jackie Tarulli-Fisher have continued their high-level of play in DePaul’s first 28 games. Patton leads the Blue Demons with a .365 batting average and enters the weekend on a three-game hitting streak. The junior infielder has a team-best 31 hits and .407 on base percentage.

Tarulli-Fisher is a giant killer behind the plate and has caught eight would-be base stealers with her rocket arm. With a bat in her hand, Tarulli-Fisher is a constant threat as she leads the team with 15 RBI and has four home runs.
The DePaul/Notre Dame series is 52 games old, with the Blue Demons holding a 28-23-1 series advantage. The Irish won the last meeting with a 8-2 victory in the semifinals of the BIG EAST Championship in South Bend in 2007.
