Adix Earns Fourth BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week Honor



PROVIDENCE, R.I.- DePaul senior right handed pitcher Tracie Adix was named the BIG EAST Conference Softball Pitcher of the week for the fourth time this season after posting a 2-0 record against BIG EAST opponents USF and Louisville last week. Connecticut's Micah Truax was tabbed BIG EAST Player of the Week after posting a .426 batting average.

 

Adix (13-1) threw a shutout against USF and a gave up just one earned run in her 14.0 innings of work.  The senior stuck out 12 batters, walking two and threw two complete games. Adix limited her opponents to just six hits and a .118 overall batting average.  Adix has allowed just two earned runs in league play this season, while she has registered one of the nation's best ERAs. Adix's 0.59 ERA is second behind Tennessee's Monica Abbott, who has a 0.56 ERA.

 

Truax hit four home runs and registered eight RBI in a 5-0 week for the Huskies.

 

The No. 17/11 Blue Demons (32-7, 14-0 BIG EAST) break from league play this week, traveling to Northern Illinois for a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 25 and are at Loyola-Chicago and Illinois for single games on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.  DePaul hosts Notre Dame for a BIG EAST doubleheader on Sunday at Cacciatore Stadium.
