Heteniak and Adix Throw a Combined No-Hitter at the NCAA Carbondale Regional

Heteniak and Adix nearly threw a perfect game; but Heteniak walked a batter after fighting through a full count in the third inning. Heteniak threw the first four innings and struck out eight before Adix entered the game in the fifth and sent four batters back to the dugout.
The Blue Demon's offense and defense provided the second half of the one-two punch as the fielding was perfect and the batters combined for 10 hits. Sandy Vojik extended her hitting streak to nine games and led DePaul with a 2-for-4 effort including a bases loaded grand slam to end the game. Amber Patton and Linda Secka also had a strong day at the plate, both going 3-for-4. Secka was responsible for four of DePaul's runs as she crossed the plate three times and had a RBI single in the second inning.

The Delta Devilettes (29-27) fielding woes continued as the Blue Demons took advantage of two errors to post a pair of runs in the fourth frame. Heteniak reached on a error and Secka followed with a single to left center. Both runners scored on muffed throw by
DePaul first baseman, Marcy Wilus sent her team-best 12th home run of the season over the left field fence to give the Blue Demons a 6-0 lead in the fifth inning.
Secka reached on an error to begin the sixth inning and Jessica Evans and Kara Amundson connected on back-to-back singles to set the stage for Vojik's grand slam.

Heteniak improved to 19-6 on the season.
