CHICAGO - After an impressive showing at the 2014 NCAA Tournament, DePaul softball finally cracked the national polls on Tuesday. The Blue Demons checked in at No. 24 in the NFCA rankings and No. 25 in the USA Softball/ESPN.com poll.

DePaul had been receiving votes in either poll on 10 separate occasions during the regular season. The Blue Demons are the only team from the BIG EAST Conference to climb into either poll in 2014.

It was a banner year for the program, as the Blue Demons swept the BIG EAST Conference regular season and tournament championships before advancing to the program's 18th NCAA Tournament. While there, the Blue Demons beat back-to-back nationally-ranked teams in No. 25 James Madison and hosting -- and 15th ranked -- Kentucky to reach an eighth-ever regional final.

The Blue Demons finished the 2014 campaign 44-11 overall and 18-1 in BIG EAST play. The 44 wins were the most for DePaul since 2008.
