CHICAGO - With fall season in the books, head coach Eugene Lenti has announced the DePaul softball team's 2013 schedule. Coming off a year in which DePaul earned its 17th NCAA Division I Softball Championship berth, the Blue Demons are set to compete in some of the nation's toughest tournaments before taking on a difficult BIG EAST Conference schedule.

DePaul--owner of a 36-22 record last season--opens its 2013 season with the Sportco Kick-Off Classic in Las Vegas, Nev. on Feb. 8 with matchups against Texas Tech and UNLV. The following day, DePaul takes on Minnesota and UCF before battling BIG EAST member Louisville in a non-conference match on Feb. 10.

The following week, DePaul heads to Houston, Texas, for a tournament hosted by the University of Houston. The Blue Demons face Texas and Houston on Feb. 15 before games against in-state foe Illinois and a rematch against Houston on Feb. 16. The Blue Demons conclude the Houston Tournament with a Feb. 17 game against Texas.

Beginning Feb. 22, DePaul heads to Clearwater, Fla., for the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) Leadoff Classic. That first day, the Blue Demons battle Fordham and James Madison. On Feb. 23, DePaul takes on UCF and Pacific before finishing out the tournament with a Feb. 24 game against perennial contender Michigan.

To open the month of March, DePaul returns to Las Vegas for the Eller Media Stadium Classic from March 1-3. In that span, the Blue Demons face New Mexico State, Weber State, Cal State Northridge, and UNLV.

In its final non-conference tournament action of the season, DePaul heads to Fullerton, Calif. for the Judi Garman Classic from March 14-17. On day one, DePaul faces Washington and NC State. Day two pits the Blue Demons against host Cal State Fullerton and Penn State. DePaul's final game of the classic is against Texas in what will be their third meeting of the 2013 season.

At the beginning of BIG EAST action, the Blue Demons remain on the road. On March 23, DePaul travels to Providence to take on the Friars in a three-game set.

After 27 straight road games to open its 2013 schedule, DePaul finally returns home to Cacciatore Stadium as it welcomes Pittsburgh for a three-game series beginning with a March 29 doubleheader. That day will serve as the fans' first chance to catch the new-look Blue Demons in Lincoln Park.

On April 3, Seton Hall visits Cacciatore Stadium for a mid-week doubleheader before the Blue Demons hit the road once again for a weekend series at Syracuse from April 6-7.

DePaul faces another non-conference test on Tuesday, April 9, when Illinois State comes to town. The Redbirds ousted the Blue Demons from the NCAA Tournament last spring.

On April 10, DePaul continues its Illinois tour as it heads to cross-town foe UIC before heading to Champaign, Ill., for an April 17 contest against the University of Illinos.

The Blue Demons' BIG EAST play resumes on April 20-21 when USF visits Lincoln Park for a three-game series. DePaul then heads to St. John's on April 24 before home contests against Loyola (Apr. 25) and Notre Dame (Apr. 27-28). The last contest against the Fighting Irish will serve as the Blue Demons' Senior Day.

DePaul concludes its 2013 regular season with an Apr. 30 game at Northwestern, a May 1 game at home against Northern Illinois, and a three-game road series against Connecticut in Storrs on May 4 and 5.
