Cat's Corner: sports blog Dec. 22
Hello... hello... I know it’s been a while, and I have no real reason to have not written other than I just got lazy for a little while! I mean everyone needs some lazy time in their life, so I took mine. I’m now back in Texas and loving every minute of it. I really enjoy Chicago now that I moved there, but I am such a Texas girl through and through that I love being home. I flew to Austin on Sunday to be the MC of a presentation, and then my brother, Craig, came to pick me up and drive to Houston. It was awesome to catch up with him on our drive. It’s funny how I remember when we were little and fighting all the time, but now we are so close we can share everything. Before coming home I was in Florida for the NFCA Coaches Convention. I was down there to do some work with Wilson, but also for Eug’s (Coach Lenti) induction into the Hall of Fame (Check out the photos). The Hall of Fame Dinner was so much fun. The DePaul crew had a fun time chatting away and watching the videos of each inductee. Of course Eug’s was the best! ;) It was a fun, four days of catching up with old friends, playing beach volleyball, talking to coaches, and of course seeing Eug be honored! He has definitely earned it. Let’s see.... I was home for Thanksgiving, but only for a short two days. Long story, but let’s just say my travel plans got all screwed up. Tucker (my sweet puppy) has been with my parents since then, so seeing him last night was the highlight of my day. He jumped up and gave me kisses galore, then ran in a circle and came back to kiss me some more. Dogs are seriously the kindest creatures in the world. I’ve done a few clinics since Thanksgiving. The two at DePaul were a success. I think each year we learn how to make them better and better. I have to thank Megan Huitink, Lauren Frankiewicz and Marie Thompson for helping me with those. I think each girl got plenty of attention! =) I drove up to Rockford, Illinois to work some clinics up there too, and it made me so excited to know I have a home there this summer. The Rockford Thunder is putting together a good team, so I’m excited to take the field and to be able to compete for the league title. What else has gone on... oh, my fall classes ended well! I’m very pleased with that because I was stressing around finals time. And I’m excited to be able to finally hit the slopes at New Year’s! After years of being told “no” because I couldn’t be hurt for college or USA stuff, I am breaking out of my bubble and going skiing! It should be tons of fun! I hope everyone has a great holiday season! I know I’ll be enjoying my family, my baby boy Tucker (new photos!) and Texas! =) Cat Past Blogs Cat's Photo Albums Olympic Tales
