Singles Leads the Way at IU Winter Invite

Day One Results

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – DePaul women’s tennis returned to action Saturday in day one of the IU Winter Invite hosted by the Indiana Hoosiers.

The Blue Demons came away with a 4-2 record on the first day of competition with Marija Jovicic, Patricia Lancranjan, Alina Kuzmenkova and Milica Tesic emerging victorious at the IU Tennis Center.

Jovicic topped Karoline Haller of Wright State while Lancranjan defeated Annabelle Andrinopoulos of Colorado.

Win No. 3 came courtesy of Kuzmenkova knocking off Autumn Crossnoe of Abilene Christian and Tesic finished off a successful singles round with a victory over Ileanna Mocciola of Abilene Christian.

In doubles, Jovicic and Tesic outlasted Abilene Christian. Keisha Clousing and Lenka Antonijevic fell to the tandem from Mississippi State and Kuzmenkova and Lancranjan dropped their match to the host Hoosiers.

Day two begins at 8 a.m. Sunday with doubles competition.
