CHICAGO - The No. 71 DePaul women's tennis team kept rolling Saturday, winning its second straight 7-0 decision over visiting Butler at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.

It was the first home match of the year for the Blue Demons, as the team improved to 2-2 overall in dual match play. Butler fell to 1-4 with the loss.

DePaul again swept the doubles point, getting off to a 1-0 lead in the match and dropping just seven total sets across three matches.

The freshman tandem of Zaina Sufi and Jarret Fisher went to 2-0 as a duo with a convincing 8-1 win at the third spot, beating Butler's Sienna Reuter and Clare Cornelius, before freshman Ana Vladutu and sophomore Patricia Fargas clinched the opening point against Stephanie McGloughlin and Konstantina Adami with an 8-2 win at the top spot.

In the two hole, freshman Matea Cutura and junior Kelsey Lawson also moved to 2-0 together with an 8-4 decision over Caroline Hedrick and Brittany Farmer.

In singles, the Blue Demons wrapped up perfect matches at the six, one and five spots first.

Sufi was a winner at the six, taking down Cornelius to go to 2-2 in dual match play. Fisher, ranked No. 119 in singles by the ITA, followed with an identical score against Reuter and now stands 14-2 overall in solo play going back to the fall.

Cutura, also ranked by the ITA at No. 112, made quick work of McLoughlin as well to clinch the match and go to 14-3 overall and 3-1 in dual matches.

Finishing next, Vladutu won her second straight match in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1 over Farmer. Lawson then defeated Adami, 6-3, 6-1 and remains undefeated at the fifth spot in the lineup (3-0).

The Blue Demons got their final singles point from Fargas, who capped the match with a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Hedrick at second singles.

DePaul will go for its third straight win, wrapping up the weekend tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 3, with another home tilt at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness against Eastern Michigan University. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
