Women's Tennis Falls to Furman
Feb. 10, 2018

CHICAGO – This time, the big snowstorm didn’t prevent DePaul women’s tennis from competing at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.

After Friday’s home match against Western Michigan was postponed, the Blue Demons came up just a little short in a 4-3 loss to Furman on Saturday.

Competing shorthanded wound up costing DePaul (3-2) as the forfeit at No. 6 singles proved critical.

It was a promising start for the home team with the tandems of Keisha Clousing and Patricia Lancranjan along with Aspasia Avgeri and Milica Tesic claiming the doubles point.

Furman (3-4) quickly evened the score with the singles forfeit. But Lancranjan at No. 2 and Marija Jovicic at No. 4 came through with singles wins for a 3-1 Blue Demon lead.

The Paladins rallied to win the final three singles matches to come away with the victory.

Next up is a Friday match at Purdue that is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
