March 8, 2013
PRINCETON, N.J. - No. 75 DePaul women's tennis fell in another close road match on Friday, dropping a 4-3 decision against hosting No. 68 Princeton at Jadwin Gym.
The Blue Demons (9-6) have now lost four straight, but three of those have been by razor slim 4-3 margins. DePaul is 1-4 against ranked teams in 2013.
DePaul came back in singles competition to take a 2-1 lead in the match, however, earning back-to-back victories on courts five and three.
Princeton would retake the lead after wins at sixth and fourth singles, but the Blue Demons tied the match at three points apiece when Matea Cutura closed out her opponent, Lindsay Graff, 7-6, 6-4 at the top spot in the order.
With the outcome riding on second singles, Fargas took the nationally-ranked Muliawan (No. 112) the distance but came out on the losing end of a 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 score.
Next up for DePaul will be a Sunday meeting with No. 39 Yale at 1:00 p.m. in New Haven, Conn.
