Women's Tennis Loses 4-2 Match to Houston

HOUSTON, Texas -- The DePaul women's tennis team fell to No. 33 Houston, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon.

For the No. 31 Blue Demons, the loss was their second straight. The team is now 17-3 overall. Houston improved to 16-4.

Only the singles matches were played in the contest. 

Kelsey Lawson and Rebeca Mitrea posted DePaul's two wins of the day. At No. 4 singles, Lawson defeated Maria Andrea Cardenas, 7-5, 7-6. In the No. 6 match, Mitrea beat Charlotte Phillips, 6-3, 6-4.

The loss was just the second for DePaul since Jan. 26.

The Blue Demons will look to bounce back in their next match, an April 13 home battle against Cincinnati.
