CINCINNATI, Ohio - No. 73 DePaul women's tennis picked up its second BIG EAST win on Saturday, burying Cincinnati on the road in a 6-1 match at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center.

The win was DePaul's third in its past four matches and improved the team to 12-8 overall as well as 2-3 in BIG EAST action. The Bearcats fell to 10-8 and 2-4 in league play with the setback.

DePaul began the match by taking all three doubles competitions to improve to 11-0 when winning the pairs point. The Blue Demons then took five-of-six singles competitions to finish off Cincinnati and snap the Bearcats six-match winning streak.

Reigning BIG EAST Player of the Week Patricia Fargas started off singles play with a tidy match at the two, defeating Caitlin O'Gara 6-1, 6-0 for her 11th win in 14 matches.

Junior Kelsey Lawson then followed with a straight set win, 6-0, 6-4, over Kelly Poggensee-Wei at the fourth position to make it a 3-0 match.

UC got a point back at third singles, but DePaul clinched the contest with a 6-0, 6-4 win from freshman Matea Cutura at the top spot in the lineup.

With the outcome in hand, the Blue Demons added two more points at fifth and sixth singles to cap the day.

Freshman Jarret Fisher took care of Hannah Wille, 6-4, 6-2 at the five to win her fourth straight match, while classmate Zaina Sufi worked her way through a tight first set to take a 7-6 (12-10), 6-2 victory against Kristina Georgieva.

In doubles, Fargas and sophomore Jasmin Kling produced an 8-2 victory against Ashleigh Witte and Sierra Sullivan. Sophomore Carolin Neumann and Lawson then teamed up for an 8-5 win against Poggensee-Wei and Kristina Georgieva. Cutura and fellow freshman Ana Vladutu completed the doubles sweep, sneaking past O'Gara and Jasmine Lee by an 8-7 score.

The Blue Demons will bounce back into action tomorrow, Sunday, April 14 at the University of Louisville to conclude the regular season with another road match against a BIG EAST foe. First serve is slated for 11:00 a.m. CT.
